How long does an appointment take?
Most appointments run between forty-five minutes and two hours, depending on coat length, condition, and how your cat is doing on the day. First visits are booked with extra time so nothing has to be rushed.
What if my cat has never been professionally groomed?
That is very common, and it is exactly what the First-Visit Consultation is for. We keep the first appointment short, introduce equipment slowly, and stop well before your cat runs out of patience.
Do you work with nervous or sensitive cats?
Yes. We work one-to-one in a cat-only room, keep noise low, and adapt handling to what each cat will accept. Some cats do better with two shorter visits than one long one, and that is a perfectly good outcome.
Can I stay during the appointment?
You are welcome to stay for the introduction. Many cats settle faster once their owner steps out, so we will tell you what seems best for your cat and leave the decision with you.
How often should my cat be groomed?
Short-haired cats are usually comfortable with a visit every few months. Long-haired, senior, or less mobile cats often do better on a four-to-six-week rhythm. We will suggest a schedule after the first visit.
What happens if my cat becomes uncomfortable?
We stop. We offer a pause, try a different position or a different order, and if they are still unhappy we end the appointment early and talk with you about what to try next time. We do not restrain a cat to finish a service.
Do you offer veterinary or medical care?
No. Mallow provides grooming and non-medical care only. We are not a veterinary practice and we do not diagnose or treat conditions. If we notice something that concerns us—skin changes, lumps, discomfort on handling, or anything unusual—we will tell you plainly and recommend you speak with your veterinarian.
